#HugChicago: The hug will serve as a mustard seed (small act of faith) for young black males between 13-21 years of age. We want to hug them and show them love.
Their goal is to Hug 100,000 young black males and raise the money with donations from 5 to 50 dollars. The challenge has a fundraising goal of $125,000.00 that will seed programs at city wide organizations that serve young men.
The Ancillary Goal is to spark the dialogue, the conversation, the thinking, the discussion…to raise awareness of social and emotional disconnect (lack of love) with young black males… provide solutions for societal disconnects.
We truly enjoyed ourselves to hear great music from Chicago artists that all have great messages. What stuck out particularly to us, was the knowledge given to us by our good friend GLC. He is not only a Chicago Legend but an educator of the "Ism", speaking nothing but truth and reality. it's important for our people to understand whats happening in our own backyards.
Not only, was the event about being educated and finding a solution to the issues in Chicago, it was also lots of fun, we played trivia games as well. The Promontory sponsored a big knot of loot, the host asked a question, if you answered correctly. he peeled off the top of the money and gave it to you. It was up to you whether you chose to keep the money or DONATE it to the cause. Happy to say most people donated their winnings and added to it right out of their pocket.

Elite Society an affiliated group of The Boy Illinois, released new music.
Their message is unique in regards to culture and their approach is more so reality & life.
Life of A Good Man talks about how cold the world is and the struggle of grinding and providing. Elite Society approach talks about life and the precious gift of it that so many take for granted yet in the midst of the chaos trying to live out your dream. The obvious concept of balancing street life versus real life and the many routes that so many young men take to get money. It can be death or success. is what we have to say about the Lupe Fiasco concert at Concord Music Hall.
Patrons throughout the entire venue were chanting the so well known lyrics of all Lupe's hits, having a good ole' time, drinking, dancing, like a true hip hop head back in the day.
There were so many faces in the building with a ton of ChiLebrities.
We saw the 1st and 15th Entertainment Family, Chicago Rapper Naledge,
Artist & Founder of Y No Face, Antonio Lee (Grandson of Annie Lee), our friends from Swank PR and many, many, more.

White Jamesreleases yet another dope and deep track "Serenity" off his upcoming debut project "Foo Fop." Serenity describes the struggle of how life use to be and how the streets were compared to the regular day to day routine of life. White James digs into the contracdictive part of his life from hustling to cursing but using religion in times of need. Serenity describes a more intuitive side of the life and will have any ears and eyes open and ready to listen once the track starts.
As the music began, my 1st introduction to the voice of White James was intriguing however, his flow had turned me off, but then there were words that started jumping out, and made me pay closer attention to hear the message. I love the grimeyness in his voice paired with the beat. It's very believable. Everythime I listen to "Serenity" I began to feel his incomparable groove more and more. His story is similar to many but yet unique and I'm interested in hearing more. The streets pray too, I hear you White James.
